Conscience Camera Award 2009
BASF PETRONAS Chemicals once again launched the Conscience Camera Award 2009, a competition to promote awareness of sustainable development and its impact on mankind.
Themed “Chemistry in our Life”, this national photography competition is now in its third year. The competition is open to all residents of Malaysia and will run from July 15 to September 30, 2009.
“As the saying goes, a picture says a thousand words. We believe photography is an effective way to create conversations. Chemistry is an integral part of life and an important contributor to sustainable development, so it will be interesting to see how Malaysians interpret the theme through their camera lenses.
Photographers are not restricted to the images of environment but can also focus on people, animals, buildings, and our surroundings. Entries can show people in action, human emotions, or real-life, day-to-day events. Winners will be entitled to attractive cash prizes totalling RM13,000.
A panel of judges will evaluate all entries received by the closing date of September 30, 2009. BASF PETRONAS Chemicals will present a RM5,000 cash prize to the First Prize winner, along with ten other prizes, and an exhibition of the winning entries will be held in Petaling Jaya from October 28 to November 1, 2009.
A Facebook page has been set up entitled “Conscience Camera Award”, for discussion of images that can be captured to interpret the theme. Interested parties can download the rules and regulations and entry form or view photos from Conscience Camera Award 2008 at www.basf-petronas.com.my
